I am a Soldier in the French and Indian War

Dear Mommy,
I am a British soldier in the French and Indian war. My commanding officer is George Washington. We were based a Fort Necessity until the battle there. I was one of the few survivors of the ruthless battle. Then I went to General Braddock's unit and I was near him when he was killed. George Washington took control and stayed calm. I am one of the luckiest soldiers because I survived that battle also. I am now living in Fort Pitt. It is a newly built fort but is also one of the worst anywhere, I have heard. There are so many rats some of the men are forced to sleep with them. Fortunately I am higher in rank than those men. Nearly everybody in the fort has lice and the fort is infested with fleas. I have heard that the war will be over soon. When it is i will come home to get you and then we will come to the "new world" to live.
Love, Bob

That must suck to have your fort invested with fleas. And I love that your name is Bob!
